I love the pub. I love seeing dogs at the pub even more.

There's something about a dog sitting under a beer garden table, working the room for pats while everyone pretends not to notice, that just gets me every time. Australia's pub culture and dog culture have always gone hand in hand - but nothing out there actually celebrated that.

So in December 2025, Tail Tap Co. started as an idea - what if dogs had their own bit of the pub? Their own pot of beer, their own seat at the table, something that was made for them instead of just tolerated next to them.

By January we were posting on Instagram, completely out of our comfort zone, with no idea if anyone else would find it as funny as we did.

Turns out they did.

Built with the pub dog community, not just for it.

Every product starts with Alf, our chief tester. He approves every sample, has strong opinions on squeaker placement, and has been incredibly patient through more rounds of testing than either of us would like to admit. Our first toy, the Plush Pot of Beer, only made it to launch once Alf gave it the final tick of approval.

We're a genuinely small, Australian-owned brand. No big team, no warehouse full of stock - just me, a very good dog, and a growing community of pub dogs around the country who've made this feel like something much bigger than where it started.

What's next

The Plush Pot of Beer is just the first round. There's more pub classics in the works - because if your dog's coming to the pub with you, they deserve the full menu.
